The delicious persimmon, which is called Japanese fruit in our society, is considered to be its brother homeland, china and japan. This fruit also produced in other countries of the far east. In the Korean peninsula, many of its plants are found in large number along roadsides and hillsides, between fields.Now its cultivation has started in Pakistan as well. Due to its unique properties, this fruit has gained great popularity over a long period of time. 
Persimmon belongs to Ebenaceae family of plants. There are seven genera and about 30 species in this family of plants. Among then, amlok and persimmon fruits are know in Pakistan. This fruit has been present in this region for a long time and it produced in large quantities in the northern highlands. This fruit is used in dry state persimmon fruit was introduced here in the recent past. 
Medium fertility soil and mild climate are idea for growing persimmon fruits. Its tree is bushy and 20 to 25 feet tall. its leaves fall by November and new leaves emerge at the end of January. After that, the leaves emerge and the flowers begin to bloom in March. its fruit becomes bearable till October, its fruit does not ripen on the tree, but as soon as its color turns yellowish, it is wrapped separately, in paper or polythene and kept in a crate for cooking. It is more beneficial to warp this fruit in polythene instead of paper. Persimmon fruits does not taste good until it is fully ripe. If this fruit consumed in this condition, it dries the tongue and throat. A fully ripe fruit is soft and very sweet. At this stage it contains 14 to 18 percent sugar. This fruit is a favorite food for birds, they cause considerable damage to this fruit so care must be taken to protect it from birds.    

How to plants persimmon fruit tree

Water should be given every week until flowering then water should be stopped for some rime after flowering. And as soon as the fruits begin to form, water should be applied after two and half weeks. Water should be given every 10 to 15 days keeping in mind the later fruit ripening and weather condition. after fruit bearing in November- December, plants do not need water until February. 
Pruning and pruning of marla persimmon tree is very important to get a good harvest. This plant is generally produced in a low height and conical shape.  How to make persimmon fruit jam  

Good quality jam can also be prepared from this fruit. Ripe fruit one kg of sugar three grams of salt two grams.
Cut the ripe fruit into four equal parts add sugar and salt to it and leave it for half an hour. Now cook it well and stir continuously with a spoon while cooking. After cooling, pour into pre- cleaned open mouthed jars and cover.  

Persimmon fruit is very useful for health. Once a friend of ours had a severe pain in his leg, we went to visit him at his house, and while on our way, he took the fruit. Later he told us that i didn't like persimmon fruits and all kept it in the cupboard. At one or two o'clock in the morning i felt hungry, and having nothing else to eat, i took out two or three persimmon fruits from the cupboard and ate them. When i woke up the next morning, the pain in my muscles and legs was surprisingly gone. When the doctor came to check me in the morning, i told him that i had taken persimmon fruit that relieved the pain.So the doctor told me that there are ingredients in the persimmon fruit that have the ability to eliminate pain.
